The Edwards Air Force Base in the United States announced that a B-52 bomber crashed on Monday, June 25, in California.

According to a statement released by the base, the aircraft "experienced an incident shortly after taking off" from the Edwards Air Force Base runway at 11:20 AM local time. The statement added, "Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene, and rescue and investigation operations are ongoing." U.S. officials have not yet released details about the cause of the crash, the fate of the crew, or the extent of potential damages.

The "B-52 Stratofortress" is one of the most important long-range bombers in the U.S. Air Force, in service since the 1950s, capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear weapons.

پایگاه نیروی هوایی ادواردز آمریکا اعلام کرد یک بمب‌افکن بی-۵۲ روز دوشنبه ۲۵ خردادماه در ایالت کالیفرنیا سقوط کرده است.

بر اساس بیانیه منتشرشده از سوی این پایگاه، هواپیما «اندکی پس از برخاستن» از باند فرودگاه پایگاه ادواردز و در ساعت ۱۱:۲۰ صبح به وقت محلی دچار سانحه شد.
در این بیانیه آمده است: «تیم‌های امدادی بلافاصله به محل حادثه اعزام شدند و عملیات امداد و بررسی همچنان ادامه دارد.»
مقام‌های آمریکایی تاکنون جزئیاتی درباره علت سقوط، سرنوشت خدمه یا میزان خسارات احتمالی منتشر نکرده‌اند.

«بی-۵۲ استراتوفورترس» یکی از مهم‌ترین بمب‌افکن‌های دوربرد نیروی هوایی آمریکا است که از دهه ۱۹۵۰ در خدمت ارتش این کشور قرار دارد و توانایی حمل تسلیحات متعارف و هسته‌ای را دارد.
