The judiciary of the Islamic Republic announced that on Tuesday, June 16, two more protesters from last December were executed in Shahroud.

The Mizan news agency reported that the names of the executed individuals are Javad Zamani and Abolfazl Saadi, stating that they were executed on charges of "moharebeh" (waging war against God) and "efsad fil arz" (corruption on earth).

This is the first instance of the execution of protesters in Iran following the announcement of an agreement between Tehran and Washington to end the 40-day war.

In an official statement from the judiciary, quoting Mohammad Sadegh Akbari, the head of the Semnan province judiciary, it was claimed that the executed individuals "engaged in the destruction and arson of public and private property, carried and used cold and hot weapons, disrupted public order and security, conspired against the security of the country, and committed other criminal acts" in the city of Shahroud.

قوه قضائیه جمهوری اسلامی اعلام کرد که روز سه‌شنبه ۲۶ خرداد دو نفر دیگر از معترضان دی‌ماه پارسال در شاهرود اعدام شدند.

خبرگزاری میزان، اسامی افراد اعدام‌شده را جواد زمانی و ابوالفضل ساعدی اعلام و گفته است که آن‌ها به اتهام «محاربه» و «افساد فی‌الارض» اعدام شدند.

این نخستین مورد از اعدام معترضان در ایران پس از اعلام توافق تهران و واشینگتن برای پایان دادن به جنگ ۴۰ روزه است.

در بیانیه رسمی قوه قضائیه، از قول محمدصادق اکبری رئیس دادگستری استان سمنان ادعا شده است که افراد اعدام‌شده «اقدام به تخریب و آتش‌زدن اموال عمومی و خصوصی، حمل و استفاده از سلاح سرد و گرم و اخلال در نظم و امنیت عمومی، اجتماع و تبانی علیه امنیت کشور و سایر اقدامات مجرمانه» در شهر شاهرود کردند.
