The French Foreign Minister says that Paris will not agree to lift United Nations Security Council sanctions against Iran until it is assured that negotiations regarding Tehran's nuclear program meet its expectations. Jean-Noël Barrot announced this on Friday, June 18. France is one of the permanent members of the UN Security Council.

Barrot stated that stability in the region will not be established as long as U.S. negotiations with Iran do not address the ambiguities related to the Islamic Republic's ballistic missile program and Tehran's support for proxy forces. He added, "We need a fundamental change in Iran's approach."

In an interview with France Info television, Barrot responded to a question about France's policy following the "peace agreement" between Iran and the U.S. regarding Tehran, saying, "The people of Iran were the biggest victims of this war. They are caught in repression on one side and bombs are being dropped on them from the other. We do not forget the January massacre, where state violence indiscriminately targeted peaceful protesters."
France has described U.S. and Israeli military attacks on the Islamic Republic as "illegal" and has repeatedly stated that it will not participate in this war.
Donald Trump signed the peace agreement with Iran at the Palace of Versailles in the presence of Emmanuel Macron.

وزیر خارجه فرانسه می‌گوید پاریس تا زمانی که اطمینان حاصل نکند مذاکرات درباره برنامه هسته‌ای تهران انتظاراتش را برآورده می‌کند، با لغو تحریم‌های شورای امنیت سازمان ملل متحد علیه ایران موافقت نخواهد کرد.
ژان نوئل بارو روز جمعه ۲۹ خرداد این موضوع را اعلام کرد. فرانسه یکی از اعضای دارای حق وتوی شورای امنیت سازمان ملل است.

بارو گفت تا زمانی که مذاکرات آمریکا با ایران به ابهامات مربوط به برنامه موشک‌های بالستیک جمهوری اسلامی و حمایت تهران از نیروهای نیابتی پاسخ ندهد، ثباتی در منطقه برقرار نخواهد شد.
او افزود: «ما به یک تغییر اساسی در رویکرد ایران نیاز داریم.»

بارو که با تلویزیون «فرانس انفو» مصاحبه می‌کرد در پاسخ به پرسشی درباره سیاست فرانسه پس از «امضای تفاهم‌نامه پایان جنگ» ایران و آمریکا در قبال تهران گفت: «مردم ایران، بزرگ‌ترین قربانیان این جنگ بودند. آن‌ها از یک سو گرفتار سرکوبند و از سوی دیگر به رویشان بمب ریخته می‌شود. ما کشتار ژانویه (دی‌ماه) را که در آن خشونت دولتی بدون تمایز، معترضان مسالمت‌آمیز را هدف قرار داد، فراموش نمی‌کنیم.»
فرانسه حملات نظامی آمریکا و اسرائیل به جمهوری اسلامی را «غیرقانونی» توصیف و بارها اعلام کرد که در این جنگ شرکت نمی‌کند.
دونالد ترامپ تفاهم‌نامه پایان جنگ با ایران را در کاخ ورسای و در حضور امانوئل مکرون امضا کرد.
