JD Vance, the Vice President of the United States, announced on Saturday, June 30, in an interview with Fox News that Steve Witkoff, Trump's special envoy, and Jared Kushner, his son-in-law, have been in Switzerland for "a few hours" and are examining "some of the technical aspects of these negotiations" with Iran. According to Vance, Kushner and Witkoff have emphasized in their reports that "things are going well."

Vance also mentioned the possibility of Qatari and Pakistani mediators entering Switzerland to join these discussions, adding: "The Qataris and Pakistanis want to ensure that we are doing this the right way, so I am trying to respect this process."

Trump's deputy, who postponed his trip to Switzerland late Thursday night, reiterated that he expects to head to the country in the next two days. However, he noted that the coordination for this trip is "always a delicate diplomatic dance." These negotiations, which were previously scheduled for Friday, are on the verge of resuming after a short pause.
