A senior U.S. official told the Wall Street Journal that the U.S. military targeted several bridges in Iran to cut off supply routes leading to Bandar Abbas and the naval base located in the Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. claims that the Islamic Republic uses that naval base to attack ships and demonstrate power. Iranian state television also reported that several attacks have been carried out on bridges in Bandar Abbas and its surrounding areas, and highways leading to Bandar Abbas from neighboring provinces have been declared blocked.

The President of the United States, on Tuesday, July 14, stated in an interview with Fox News that the scope of U.S. attacks on the Islamic Republic will expand in the coming days. Donald Trump added that heavy attacks will continue, and if the Islamic Republic does not engage in negotiations, next week its power plants and bridges will be targeted. He emphasized, "We will disable all their power plants and all their bridges unless they come to the negotiating table." Trump also stressed in that interview that U.S. military operations against the Islamic Republic will continue and these attacks "will not stop until I say they are enough."

یک مقام ارشد آمریکایی به روزنامه وال‌استریت ژورنال گفت ارتش ایالات متحده چندین پل در ایران را هدف قرار داد تا مسیرهای تدارکاتی منتهی به بندرعباس و پایگاه دریایی واقع در تنگه هرمز را قطع کند.

آمریکا می‌گوید جمهوری اسلامی از آن پایگاه دریایی برای حمله به کشتی‌ها و نمایش قدرت استفاده می‌کند.
تلویزیون حکومتی ایران نیز گزارش داد که چندین حمله به پل‌هایی در بندرعباس و مناطق اطراف آن انجام شده و بزرگراه‌های منتهی به بندرعباس از استان‌های همجوار مسدود اعلام شده‌اند.

رئیس‌جمهوری آمریکا، سه‌شنبه ۲۳ تیر در مصاحبه‌ با شبکه فاکس‌نیوز گفته بود دامنه حملات آمریکا به جمهوری اسلامی در روزهای آینده گسترش خواهد یافت. دونالد ترامپ افزود حملات سنگین ادامه خواهد داشت و اگر جمهوری اسلامی وارد مذاکره نشود، هفته آینده نیروگاه‌های برق و پل‌های آن هدف قرار خواهند گرفت. او تصریح کرد: «تمام نیروگاه‌های برق و تمام پل‌های آن‌ها را از کار خواهیم انداخت، مگر اینکه پای میز مذاکره بیایند.»
ترامپ در آن مصاحبه همچنین تاکید کرد عملیات نظامی آمریکا علیه جمهوری اسلامی ادامه دارد و این حملات «تا زمانی که خودم بگویم کافی است» متوقف نخواهد شد.
