The New York Times, citing several American officials, reported that the attack by the Islamic Republic on Jordan, which resulted in the deaths of two American soldiers and the disappearance of one soldier on Friday, was the fourth attack on American forces in the country in the past five days.

According to these officials, these attacks have injured dozens of American soldiers and damaged several Black Hawk helicopters.

These officials stated that the attacks and the resulting damages indicate that the Islamic Republic's forces still possess significant missile reserves and have become more skilled at bypassing American air defense systems.

The New York Times noted that the importance of Jordan for U.S. operations has increased, as the Pentagon moved part of its forces from Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar to Jordan and Israel in the days leading up to and during the early days of the war.

According to American officials, the restrictions imposed by some of America's regional allies on the deployment of forces and the flight of American aircraft over their territory have also increased Jordan's role in Washington's operations.

The Pentagon declined to comment on this matter.

روزنامه نیویورک تایمز به نقل از چند مقام آمریکایی نوشت حمله جمهوری اسلامی به اردن که جمعه به کشته شدن دو سرباز آمریکایی و مفقود شدن یک سرباز انجامید، چهارمین حمله به نیروهای آمریکایی در این کشور طی پنج روز گذشته بود.

به گفته این مقام‌ها، این حملات در مجموع ده‌ها سرباز آمریکایی را زخمی کرده و به تعدادی بالگرد بلک هاوک آسیب رسانده است.

این مقام‌ها گفتند حملات و خسارات ناشی از آنها نشان می‌دهد نیروهای جمهوری اسلامی همچنان ذخایر موشکی قابل توجهی دارند و در عبور از سامانه‌های دفاع هوایی آمریکا نیز ماهرتر شده‌اند.

نیویورک تایمز نوشت اهمیت اردن برای عملیات آمریکا افزایش یافته است، زیرا پنتاگون پیش و در روزهای نخست جنگ، بخشی از نیروهای خود را از بحرین، امارات متحده عربی و قطر به اردن و اسرائیل منتقل کرد.

به گفته مقام‌های آمریکایی، محدودیت‌های اعمال‌شده از سوی برخی متحدان منطقه‌ای آمریکا برای استقرار نیروها و پرواز هواپیماهای آمریکایی بر فراز خاکشان نیز نقش اردن در عملیات واشینگتن را افزایش داده است.
