🔴 The Abdorrahman Boroumand Foundation has documented at least 851 executions in Iran since the beginning of 2026, with 32 of those occurring in July alone.

🔸 According to international law, the death penalty is limited to "the most serious crimes" — interpreted as intentional murder — however, in Iran, non-violent drug-related offenses account for the majority of executions under such charges.

🔸 Based on data collected by the Abdorrahman Boroumand Foundation, nearly 45% (2,946 cases) of all recorded executions over the ten-year period from 2016 to 2025 were related to drug-related allegations.

🔸 The Iranian government's abuse of the death penalty has become so severe that prisoners in Unit 2 of Gohardasht Prison, the largest state prison in Iran, have gone on hunger strike for the second time this year, with some even sewing their lips shut. Eight days into the strike, none of the officials have responded to their situation or addressed their demands.

🔴بنیاد عبدالرحمن برومند از ابتدای سال ۲۰۲۶ تاکنون اعدام دست‌کم ۸۵۱ نفر در ایران مستند کرده است که ۳۲ مورد آن تنها در ماه ژوئیه انجام شده است.

🔸بر اساس قوانین بین‌المللی، مجازات اعدام تنها به «شدیدترین جرایم» — که به معنای قتل عمد تفسیر می‌شود — محدود شده است؛ با این حال در ایران، جرایم غیر خشن مرتبط با مواد مخدر، بیشترین سهم را در آمارهای اعدام با این‌گونه اتهامات دارند.

🔸طبق داده‌های گردآوری‌شده توسط بنیاد عبدالرحمن برومند، نزدیک به ۴۵ درصد (۲,۹۴۶ مورد) از کل اعدام‌های ثبت‌شده در بازه ۱۰ ساله ۲۰۱۶ تا ۲۰۲۵، مربوط به اتهامات منتسب به مواد مخدر بوده است.

🔸سوءاستفاده حکومت ایران از مجازات اعدام به حدی وخیم شده که زندانیان واحد دو زندان قزل‌حصار ، بزرگ‌ترین زندان دولتی ایران برای دومین بار در سال جاری دست به اعتصاب غذا زده‌اند و حتی برخی از آن‌ها لب‌های خود را دوخته‌اند. با گذشت هشت روز از آغاز این اعتصاب، هیچ‌یک از مسئولان پاسخگوی وضعیت آنان نبوده و به خواسته‌های اعتصاب آنها توجه نکرده‌اند.
