The judiciary of the Islamic Republic has issued heavy sentences for two of the detainees from the nationwide protests in December 2024; Mehran Navab-Safavi has been sentenced to death, and the 10-year prison sentence for Ali Sanei has also been upheld by the appeals court.

Mehran Navab-Safavi, imprisoned in Dashtgerd Prison in Isfahan, has been sentenced to death by the fifth branch of the Revolutionary Court of Isfahan, presided over by Judge Hemmati-Nejad, on charges of "moharebeh" (waging war against God).

His case includes accusations such as "moharebeh through participation in the destruction of public property," "propaganda against the regime," "gathering and colluding against national security," and "encouraging people to kill each other."

At the same time, the 10-year prison sentence for Ali Sanei, a 22-year-old computer science student, has been confirmed by the appeals court.

Sanei was arrested in Esfand 2024 in Malard and transferred to Greater Tehran Prison. The 28th branch of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Amouzad, had sentenced him to 10 years in prison on charges including "insulting the leadership," "gathering and colluding against national security," "propaganda against the regime," and "collaboration with Israel."

دستگاه قضایی جمهوری اسلامی برای دو نفر از بازداشت‌شدگان اعتراضات سراسری دی‌ماه ۱۴۰۴ احکام سنگینی صادر کرد؛ مهنام نواب‌صفوی به اعدام محکوم و حکم ۱۰ سال زندان علی صانعی نیز در دادگاه تجدیدنظر تایید شده است.

مهنام نواب‌صفوی، محبوس در زندان دستگرد اصفهان، از سوی شعبه پنجم دادگاه انقلاب اصفهان به ریاست قاضی همتی‌نژاد با اتهام «محاربه» به اعدام محکوم شده است.

در پرونده او اتهام‌هایی از جمله «محاربه از طریق مشارکت در تخریب اموال عمومی»، «تبلیغ علیه نظام»، «اجتماع و تبانی علیه امنیت کشور» و «تشویق مردم به کشتار یکدیگر» مطرح شده است.

هم‌زمان، حکم ۱۰ سال حبس علی صانعی، دانشجوی ۲۲ ساله رشته کامپیوتر، در دادگاه تجدیدنظر تایید شد.

صانعی اسفندماه ۱۴۰۴ در ملارد بازداشت و به زندان تهران بزرگ منتقل شد. شعبه ۲۸ دادگاه انقلاب تهران به ریاست قاضی عموزاد او را با اتهام‌هایی از جمله «توهین به رهبری»، «اجتماع و تبانی علیه امنیت کشور»، «تبلیغ علیه نظام» و «همکاری با اسرائیل» به ۱۰ سال حبس محکوم کرده بود.
