The British government announced that its armed forces are ready to protect the country against any attack.

This stance was expressed after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that American bombers should not be allowed to use British bases.

In a statement on Thursday, the IRGC announced that the U.S. has used the Fairford base in southwestern England to carry out bombing missions against Iran, adding that any base used for such attacks would be a legitimate target.

Andy Burnham, the new Prime Minister of Britain, was informed last week that London has once again reached an agreement with the U.S. to use British bases under what is referred to as "collective defense of the region."

A spokesperson for the British government said, "Our armed forces are ready to protect Britain against any attack, whether on home soil or abroad."

دولت بریتانیا اعلام کرد نیروهای مسلح آن برای حفاظت از کشور در برابر هر حمله‌ای آماده‌اند.

این موضع پس از آن بیان شد که سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی هشدار داد نباید به بمب‌افکن‌های آمریکایی اجازه داده شود از پایگاه‌های بریتانیایی استفاده کنند.

سپاه در بیانیه‌ای در روز پنجشنبه اعلام کرد آمریکا از پایگاه فرفورد در جنوب‌غربی انگلیس برای انجام مأموریت‌های بمباران علیه ایران استفاده کرده و افزود هر پایگاهی که برای چنین حملاتی به کار گرفته شود، هدفی مشروع خواهد بود.

اندی برنهام، نخست‌وزیر جدید بریتانیا، هفته گذشته در جریان این خبر قرار گرفت که لندن بار دیگر به توافقی با آمریکا برای استفاده از پایگاه‌های بریتانیا در چارچوب آنچه «دفاع جمعی از منطقه» خوانده می‌شود، رسیده است.

یک سخنگوی دولت بریتانیا گفت: «نیروهای مسلح ما آماده‌اند از بریتانیا در برابر هرگونه حمله‌ای، چه در داخل خاک کشور و چه خارج، محافظت کنند».
