The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic condemned Ukraine's attack on an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea, stating that this attack, which occurred early Saturday morning, resulted in the explosion of the ship, the death of one person, and the injury of another.

In this statement, the action was described as a "hostile act," and it was noted that such an attack could lead to the escalation and expansion of the war.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic also referred to what it called the "acknowledgment of the Ukrainian regime's president" regarding this attack, stating that this indicates the continuation of Kyiv's hostile approach towards the Islamic Republic.

At the end of this statement, the Ministry emphasized that the Islamic Republic will defend its national interests and security, holding Ukraine and its supporters responsible for any consequences arising from this incident.

This reaction came after Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, announced that his country's forces targeted a Russian warship and vessels used for transporting military cargo related to Iran in last night's long-range attacks in the Caspian Sea.

On Saturday, August 25, Zelensky wrote in a message on X that Ukraine's operations in the Caspian Sea had yielded "very good" results, and among the targets were vessels that were being used "with Iran's participation" to transfer military cargo. He did not provide further details about the identity of the warship or the targeted vessels.

وزارت امور خارجه جمهوری اسلامی حمله اوکراین به یک شناور ایرانی در دریای خزر را محکوم کرد و اعلام کرد این حمله که بامداد شنبه رخ داد، به انفجار کشتی، کشته شدن یک نفر و زخمی شدن یک نفر دیگر منجر شده است.

در این بیانیه، این اقدام «عمل تجاوزکارانه» توصیف شده و آمده است که چنین حمله‌ای می‌تواند به تشدید و گسترش جنگ منجر شود.

وزارت خارجه جمهوری اسلامی همچنین با اشاره به آنچه «اذعان رییس رژیم اوکراین» به این حمله خواند، اعلام کرد این موضوع نشان‌دهنده ادامه رویکرد خصمانه کی‌یف علیه جمهوری اسلامی است.

این واکنش پس از آن منتشر شد که ولودیمیر زلنسکی، رییس‌جمهوری اوکراین، اعلام کرد نیروهای این کشور در حملات دوربرد شب گذشته در دریای خزر یک ناو جنگی روسیه و همچنین کشتی‌هایی را که برای جابه‌جایی محموله‌های نظامی مرتبط با ایران استفاده می‌شدند، هدف قرار داده‌اند.

زلنسکی روز شنبه سوم مرداد در پیامی در شبکه ایکس نوشت عملیات اوکراین در دریای خزر به نتایج «بسیار خوب» رسیده و در میان اهداف آن، کشتی‌هایی قرار داشته‌اند که «با مشارکت ایران» برای انتقال محموله‌های نظامی به کار گرفته می‌شدند. او جزییات بیشتری درباره هویت ناو جنگی یا کشتی‌های هدف قرار گرفته ارایه نکرد.
