Ismail Baqaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced on Sunday, July 25, without providing details, that there have been "advancements" in the negotiations and discussions between Tehran and Muscat.

This official from the Islamic Republic made his comments after an Omani delegation, which had come to Tehran to discuss the management of the Strait of Hormuz, left Iran on Saturday evening.

Baqaei explained about these negotiations: "On Friday and Saturday, several rounds of discussions were held between Iran and Oman at the level of deputy foreign ministers in Tehran, during which both sides exchanged views on common principles and operational mechanisms for ensuring safe maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz while respecting the sovereign rights of the two coastal states."

The Foreign Ministry official further added that "currently, there has been no change in the status of traffic in the Strait."

اسماعیل بقایی، سخنگوی وزارت امور خارجه ایران، روز یک‌شنبه چهارم مرداد بدون اشاره به جزئیات از «پیشرفت‌هایی» در مذاکرات و تبادل نظر تهران و مسقط خبر داد.

این مقام جمهوری اسلامی پس از آن در این باره اظهار نظر کرده است که یک هیئت عمانی که برای گفت‌وگو درباره مدیریت تنگه هرمز به تهران آمده بود شنبه عصر ایران را ترک کرد.

بقایی درباره این مذاکرات این طور توضیح داد: «روزهای جمعه و شنبه چند دور گفت‌وگو بین ایران و عمان در سطح معاونان وزرای امور خارجه در تهران برگزار شد که طی آن دو طرف در مورد اصول مشترک و سازوکارهای عملیاتی برای مدیریت تردد ایمن کشتیرانی در تنگه هرمز با رعایت حقوق حاکمیتی دو دولت ساحلی تبادل نظر کردند.»

مقام وزارت خارجه در ادامه اضافه کرده است که «در حال حاضر تغییری در وضعیت تردد در تنگه ایجاد نشده است.»
