The White House rejected the New York Times report about abandoning the plan to intensify military operations against the Islamic Republic.

Steven Chang, the White House Communications Director, stated that Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has always said he prefers a diplomatic solution, but if the Islamic Republic continues its terrorist actions in the Strait of Hormuz or against allies, all options remain on the table.

Chang added that after sanctions have crippled the Islamic Republic's economy and thirteen consecutive days of attacks on military targets, it is wise for this government to move towards an agreement. He said otherwise, the other side knows what will happen.

استیون چانگ، مدیر ارتباطات کاخ سفید گفت دونالد ترامپ، رئیس‌جمهوری آمریکا، همواره گفته است راه‌حل دیپلماتیک را ترجیح می‌دهد، اما اگر جمهوری اسلامی به اقدامات تروریستی در تنگه هرمز یا علیه متحدان ادامه دهد، همه گزینه‌ها را حفظ می‌کند.

چانگ افزود پس از تحریم‌هایی که اقتصاد جمهوری اسلامی را فلج کرده و سیزده روز پیاپی حمله به اهداف نظامی، عاقلانه است که این حکومت به سمت توافق حرکت کند. او گفت در غیر این صورت، طرف مقابل می‌داند چه اتفاقی خواهد افتاد.
