The Tasnim News Agency, close to the Revolutionary Guards, claimed on Sunday that a tanker exploded in the Strait of Hormuz after hitting a naval mine.
According to Tasnim's report, this tanker collided with a naval mine after leaving the designated shipping route set by Iran in this strategic waterway.
Based on the fifth clause of the Islamabad agreement signed between Iran and the U.S. in late June to extend the ceasefire, Iran had committed to clearing mines in the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days to allow for the free passage of ships.

خبرگزاری تسنیم، نزدیک به سپاه پاسداران، روز یکشنبه مدعی شد که یک نفتکش در تنگه هرمز پس از برخورد با یک مین دریایی منفجر شده است.
بنابر گزارش تسنیم، این نفتکش پس از خروج از مسیر دریانوردی مشخصشده از سوی ایران در این آبراه راهبردی، با مین دریایی برخورد کرده است.
بر اساس بند پنجم تفاهمنامه اسلامآباد که اواخر خرداد بین ایران و آمریکا برای تمدید آتشبس امضا شد، ایران متعهد شده بود طی ۳۰ روز در تنگه هرمز مینروبی کند تا تردد کشتیها آزاد شود.
