Axios reported, citing informed sources, that Brigadier General Brad Cooper, commander of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), has advised the Donald Trump administration to halt the bombing campaign around the Strait of Hormuz, as he believes this operation has reached its effectiveness ceiling.

According to these sources, Cooper has assessed that the attacks over the past two weeks have significantly reduced the Islamic Republic's ability to target ships in the Strait of Hormuz, and most of the designated targets for airstrikes have been eliminated.

Informed sources added that Cooper has told U.S. officials that if a decision is made to resume extensive military operations, the U.S. could strike 20% of the targets that were not hit during Operation "Epic Fury." However, he emphasized that if a decision is not made to return to extensive operations, continuing the bombing campaign from the past two weeks would not be justified.
