The British Defense Minister stated that his country has not supported and will not support any aggressive action against the Islamic Republic.
Ben Wallace, in an interview with Sky News, added that he clearly communicated this position to his American counterpart, Pete Hegseth, in his first week in office.
Wallace took on this role on July 20 during the formation of Andy Burnham's cabinet, the new Prime Minister of Britain. In the same week, he discussed maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and NATO commitments with Hegseth.
He mentioned that despite this, there are many areas for cooperation between the two countries, ranging from ensuring security in the Strait of Hormuz and preventing the Islamic Republic from acquiring nuclear weapons to investing in Britain's military capabilities and NATO.
Wallace also stated that Europe will one day be grateful to Donald Trump, the President of the United States, for pulling the continent out of lethargy and forcing NATO allies to take responsibility for their own security.

وس استریتینگ در مصاحبه با شبکه اسکاینیوز افزود این موضع را در نخستین هفته کاری خود صریحاً به پیت هگست، همتای آمریکاییاش، گفته است.
استریتینگ روز ۲۹ تیر و در جریان تشکیل کابینه اندی برنهام، نخستوزیر جدید بریتانیا، این سمت را بر عهده گرفت. او در همان هفته با هگست درباره امنیت دریایی در تنگه هرمز و تعهدات ناتو گفتوگو کرد.
او گفت با وجود این، زمینههای فراوانی برای همکاری دو کشور از تأمین امنیت تنگه هرمز و جلوگیری از دستیابی جمهوری اسلامی به سلاح هستهای تا سرمایهگذاری در توان نظامی بریتانیا و ناتو وجود دارد.
استریتینگ همچنین گفت اروپا روزی از دونالد ترامپ، رئیسجمهوری آمریکا، سپاسگزار خواهد بود که قاره را از رخوت بیرون کشید و متحدان ناتو را وادار کرد مسئولیت امنیت خود را بپذیرند.
