Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, says that Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has agreed to grant the necessary licenses for the production of Patriot missile systems to Ukraine.

Mr. Zelensky stated in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday evening that after meeting with Mr. Trump, he also spoke with representatives from several major U.S. defense companies and hopes to establish a framework for the joint production of these missiles.

The Ukrainian President, who met with Donald Trump in Washington on Tuesday, emphasized that Kyiv's most critical military need remains ballistic missile defense systems and missiles.

At the same time, the U.S. Senate advanced a comprehensive plan to intensify economic pressure on Russia and Iran with a vote of 86 in favor and 12 against. This plan, named after the late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, allows the U.S. President to impose tariffs of up to 200% on the largest buyers of Russian oil and gas and to expand sanctions against financial institutions, officials, oligarchs, and the so-called "shadow" fleet of Russia.
This plan still needs to be approved in a final Senate vote and then go to the House of Representatives for review; the House will not convene until the end of the August recess.

رئیس‌جمهوری اوکراین که روز سه‌شنبه در واشینگتن با دونالد ترامپ دیدار کرد، تأکید کرد مهم‌ترین نیاز نظامی کی‌یف همچنان سامانه‌ها و موشک‌های دفاع ضدبالستیک است.

هم‌زمان، سنای آمریکا با ۸۶ رأی موافق در برابر ۱۲ رأی مخالف، طرح گسترده‌ای را برای تشدید فشار اقتصادی بر روسیه و ایران به مرحله بعد فرستاد. این طرح که به نام لیندزی گراهام، سناتور جمهوری‌خواه درگذشته، نام‌گذاری شده است، به رئیس‌جمهوری آمریکا اجازه می‌دهد بر بزرگ‌ترین خریداران نفت و گاز روسیه تعرفه‌هایی تا سقف ۲۰۰ درصد وضع کند و تحریم‌ها علیه نهادهای مالی، مقام‌ها، الیگارش‌ها و ناوگان موسوم به «سایه» روسیه را گسترش دهد.
این طرح هنوز باید در رأی‌گیری نهایی سنا تصویب شود و سپس برای بررسی به مجلس نمایندگان برود؛ مجلسی که تا پایان تعطیلات ماه اوت تشکیل جلسه نخواهد داد.
