The U.S. Senate sent a bill to the next stage with 86 votes in favor and 12 against, which, alongside increasing economic pressure on Russia, extends sanctions related to Iran until 2031.

This bill, named after the late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, still needs to be approved in a final Senate vote and then reviewed in the House of Representatives.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced the addition of 10 companies and eight oil tankers to its sanctions list.

These sanctions have been imposed under Executive Order 13902 and are related to the Islamic Republic.

Among the sanctioned entities are the "Hormoz Saf Marine Services" and the "Persian Gulf Marine Insurance Company" in Iran.

The U.S. Treasury Department also stated that these two entities are subject to secondary sanctions.

The sanctioned companies are registered in Hong Kong, the Marshall Islands, and China, and the sanctioned oil tankers operate under the flags of various countries. These tankers have been linked to the newly sanctioned companies.
