♦️Scott Basset, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, wrote in a message on the social media platform X, "The Iranian regime, facing a free-fall economy and triple-digit inflation, is in dire need of financial resources."
He emphasized, "The United States will not allow Iran to take global trade hostage or use international shipping to finance the 'Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps,' aggressive actions, and repression."
Previously, the U.S. Treasury Department had imposed several sanction packages against individuals, companies, oil tankers, and networks related to Iran's oil exports, stating that these actions aim to limit the financial resources of the Islamic Republic and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

♦️اسکات بسنت، وزیر خزانه‌داری آمریکا، با انتشار پیامی در شبکه اجتماعی اکس نوشت «رژیم ایران که با سقوط آزاد اقتصاد و تورم سه‌رقمی روبه‌رو است، به‌شدت به منابع مالی نیاز دارد».
او تاکید کرد «ایالات متحده اجازه نخواهد داد ایران تجارت جهانی را گروگان بگیرد یا از کشتیرانی بین‌المللی برای تامین مالی «سپاه پاسداران»، اقدامات تهاجمی و سرکوب استفاده کند».
پیش از این، وزارت خزانه‌داری آمریکا چندین بسته تحریمی علیه افراد، شرکت‌ها، نفتکش‌ها و شبکه‌های مرتبط با صادرات نفت ایران اعمال کرده و اعلام کرده بود این اقدامات با هدف محدود کردن منابع مالی جمهوری اسلامی و سپاه پاسداران انجام می‌شود.
