The Wall Street Journal reported that in response to the Islamic Republic's missile attack on its forces in Jordan, the U.S. carried out strikes against the positions of the Revolutionary Guard early Thursday morning.

According to the newspaper, despite these attacks being broader than previous U.S. operations, an American official stated that this action does not signify a return to large-scale military operations. Hopes for an immediate diplomatic breakthrough also dimmed with these attacks.

The U.S. military described these strikes as a "decisive response" to the Islamic Republic's attack on Tuesday. These strikes occurred just hours after Donald Trump, the President of the United States, promised to respond to the attack.

وال استریت ژورنال در گزارشی نوشت آمریکا در پاسخ به حمله موشکی جمهوری اسلامی به نیروهایش در اردن، بامداد پنجشنبه حملاتی را علیه مواضع سپاه پاسداران انجام داد.

به گزارش این روزنامه، با وجود گسترده‌تر بودن این حملات نسبت به عملیات‌های پیشین آمریکا، یک مقام آمریکایی گفت این اقدام به معنای بازگشت به عملیات گسترده نظامی نیست. امیدها به دستیابی به یک پیشرفت دیپلماتیک فوری نیز با این حملات کمرنگ شد.

ارتش آمریکا این حملات را «پاسخی قاطع» به حمله روز سه‌شنبه جمهوری اسلامی توصیف کرد. این حملات چند ساعت پس از آن انجام شد که دونالد ترامپ، رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا، وعده داده بود به این حمله پاسخ خواهد داد.
