The 41st branch of the Supreme Court has upheld the death sentence of Benjamin Naghd, one of the detainees from the nationwide protests in January 2025, which was previously issued by the first branch of the Revolutionary Court in Shiraz. His lawyer stated that despite the issuance of this ruling, a request for retrial will soon be submitted to the Supreme Court.
Benjamin Naghd was arrested on the evening of January 3, 2025, during the protests in Shiraz. According to reports, the reason for his arrest was allegedly igniting a fire extinguisher in front of law enforcement forces.

شعبه ۴۱ دیوان عالی کشور حکم اعدام بنیامین نقدی، از بازداشتشدگان اعتراضات سراسری دی ۱۴۰۴، را که پیشتر از سوی شعبه اول دادگاه انقلاب شیراز صادر شده بود، تایید کرد. وکیل او میگوید با وجود ابلاغ این رأی، درخواست اعاده دادرسی بهزودی به دیوان عالی ارائه خواهد شد.
بنیامین نقدی شامگاه ۱۳ دیماه ۱۴۰۴ در جریان اعتراضات در شیراز بازداشت شد.
بر اساس گزارشها، علت بازداشت او شعلهور کردن یک کپسول آتشنشانی در مقابل نیروهای انتظامی عنوان شده است.
