Earlier on Friday morning:
The Islamic Republic of Iran's army has claimed that on the morning of Friday, August 9, it targeted the Ahmed Al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait with destructive drones.

The army's public relations department stated in a statement that in this attack, the fighter jet hangars, satellite communication systems, and equipment storage facilities of the U.S. military at this base were targeted. This claim has not yet been confirmed by the U.S. Central Command, CENTCOM, or Kuwaiti officials.

Ahmed Al-Jaber is one of the bases used by the U.S. military in Kuwait, and in the past, the Islamic Republic's army has repeatedly reported drone attacks on U.S. positions in this country. In one previous attack, the Islamic Republic's army claimed to have targeted administrative buildings and navigation systems at the Arifjan base, the location of helicopters at the Al-Adairi camp, and the building housing U.S. forces at Ahmed Al-Jaber.

The Islamic Republic's army described the alleged attack on Friday morning as a reaction to recent U.S. attacks on Iran. Iranian media had previously reported on U.S. attacks on parts of Qeshm Island and the deaths of several civilians in these attacks.

However, at the time of this report's publication, U.S. and Kuwaiti officials had not made any official comments regarding the occurrence of the attack or the potential extent of the damage.

ارتش جمهوری اسلامی ایران مدعی شده است بامداد جمعه ۹ مرداد، پایگاه هوایی احمدالجابر در کویت را با پهپادهای انهدامی هدف قرار داده است.

روابط عمومی ارتش در بیانیه‌ای اعلام کرد در این حمله، آشیانه جنگنده‌ها، سامانه‌های ارتباطات ماهواره‌ای و انبارهای تجهیزات ارتش آمریکا در این پایگاه هدف قرار گرفته‌اند. این ادعا تاکنون از سوی فرماندهی مرکزی آمریکا، سنتکام، یا مقام‌های کویتی تایید نشده است.

احمدالجابر یکی از پایگاه‌های مورد استفاده ارتش آمریکا در کویت است و در گذشته نیز ارتش جمهوری اسلامی بارها از حمله پهپادی به مواضع آمریکا در این کشور خبر داده است. در یکی از حملات پیشین، ارتش جمهوری اسلامی مدعی شده بود ساختمان‌های اداری و سامانه‌های جهت‌یاب در پایگاه عریفجان، محل استقرار بالگردها در اردوگاه العدیری و ساختمان استقرار نیروهای آمریکایی در احمدالجابر را هدف قرار داده است.

ارتش جمهوری اسلامی حمله ادعایی بامداد جمعه را واکنشی به حملات اخیر آمریکا به ایران توصیف کرده است. رسانه‌های ایران پیشتر از حمله آمریکا به بخش‌هایی از جزیره قشم و کشته شدن شماری از غیرنظامیان در این حملات خبر داده بودند.

با این حال، تا زمان انتشار این گزارش، مقام‌های آمریکایی و کویتی درباره وقوع حمله یا میزان خسارت احتمالی آن اظهار نظر رسمی نکرده‌اند.
