The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, following the announcement from the U.S. Central Command denying the IRGC's claim about the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, issued another statement insisting on its previous claims, stating that it has attacked and stopped two more oil tankers.

Alongside this statement, which was published on Friday, August 9, the IRGC also released images of an oil tanker burning in flames in the darkness, announcing the date as Friday.

On Thursday afternoon, CENTCOM labeled three claims made by the IRGC and its affiliated media regarding the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the destruction of three F-35 fighter jets, and the passage of an Iranian oil tanker through the U.S. naval blockade as "incorrect," stating that these claims do not align with reality.

سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی، در پی اعلام فرماندهی مرکزی ارتش آمریکا مبنی بر تکذیب ادعای سپاه دربارهٔ بسته بودن تنگه هرمز، با انتشار بیانیه‌ای دیگر با پافشاری بر ادعاهای قبلی‌اش گفت به دو نفتکش دیگر حمله و آن‌ها را متوقف کرده است.

سپاه در کنار این بیانیه که روز جمعه نهم مرداد منتشر شد، همچنین تصاویری از یک نفتکش را که در میان شعله‌های آتش در تاریکی می‌سوزد منتشر و تاریخ آن را روز جمعه اعلام کرد.

سنتکام بعدازظهر پنج‌شنبه سه ادعای مطرح‌شده از سوی سپاه پاسداران و رسانه‌های نزدیک به آن دربارهٔ بسته بودن تنگه هرمز، انهدام سه جنگنده اف-۳۵ و عبور یک نفتکش ایرانی از محاصره دریایی آمریکا را را «نادرست» خوانده و گفته بود این ادعاها با واقعیت مطابقت ندارند.
