Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, reacted to Russia's decision to place him on the "terrorists" list due to his opposition to the country's requests for widespread censorship and surveillance of users, by sharing an image of Taliban officials meeting with Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, just one day after the announcement.

In the image he shared on the social media platform X, Durov placed his photo labeled as a terrorist next to a picture of the meeting between Russian officials and Taliban representatives, captioning the second photo with "Respected partners" and using the phrase "Don't be confused" as the title for the image.

Durov had previously announced on X that Russia had placed him on the "terrorists" list due to his refusal to comply with the country's demands for extensive surveillance and censorship on Telegram.

He also sarcastically noted that he is prohibited by Russian law from "publishing information on the internet," adding, "It seems that Russian officials are confused about who can deprive whom of access to the internet."

Russia is the only country in the world that has recognized the Taliban regime.

پاول دوروف، بنیان‌گذار تلگرام، یک روز پس از آنکه اعلام کرد روسیه او را به دلیل مخالفت با درخواست‌های این کشور برای اعمال سانسور و نظارت گسترده بر کاربران، در فهرست «تروریست‌ها» قرار داده است، با انتشار تصویری از ملاقات مقام‌های طالبان با سرگئی لاوروف، وزیر خارجه روسیه، به این اقدام واکنش نشان داد.

دوروف در این تصویر که در شبکه اجتماعی ایکس به اشتراک گذاشت، عکس خود را با برچسب تروریست، کنار تصویری از دیدار مقام‌های روسیه با مقام‌های طالبان قرار داد و زیر عکس دوم نوشت: «شرکای مورداحترام» و برای عنوان این تصویر از عبارت «گیج نشوید» استفاده کرد.

دوروف پیش‌تر در ایکس خبر داده بود که روسیه به دلیل خودداری او از اجرای خواسته‌های این کشور برای نظارت گسترده و سانسور در تلگرام، نامش را در فهرست «تروریست‌ها» قرار داده است.

او همچنین به کنایه نوشت که بر اساس قوانین روسیه از «انتشار اطلاعات در اینترنت» منع شده است و افزود: «به نظر می‌رسد مقام‌های روسیه درباره اینکه چه کسی می‌تواند چه کسی را از اینترنت محروم کند، دچار سردرگمی شده‌اند.»

روسیه تنها کشور جهان است که رژیم طالبان را به رسمیت شناخته است.
