In the early hours of Saturday, July 31, 2026, the execution order for Arvin Khairkhahan, one of the detainees from the protests in December 2025, was carried out in Shahroud prison. This young protester had previously been sentenced to death by Branch 1 of the Shahroud Revolutionary Court on charges of "moharebeh" (waging war against God).

According to the news agency HRANA, the news organization of human rights activists in Iran, Arvin Khairkhahan's execution was carried out around four in the morning today.

A source close to the family of this prisoner confirmed the news to HRANA, stating that prison officials have not yet handed over his body to his relatives. According to this source, the family has been informed to come for the body at three in the morning tomorrow, and the funeral ceremony must take place at five in the morning.

Arvin Khairkhahan was arrested during the protests in December 2025 and was subsequently sentenced to death by Branch 1 of the Shahroud Revolutionary Court on charges of "moharebeh." This sentence was upheld without change after an appeal in the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court.

سحرگاه روز شنبه ۱۰ مرداد ۱۴۰۵، حکم اعدام آروین خیرخواهان، از بازداشت‌شدگان اعتراضات دی‌ماه ۱۴۰۴، در زندان شاهرود به اجرا درآمد. این جوان معترض، پیش‌تر از سوی شعبه یک دادگاه انقلاب شاهرود با اتهام «محاربه» به اعدام محکوم شده بود.

به گزارش خبرگزاری هرانا، ارگان خبری مجموعه فعالان حقوق بشر در ایران، حکم اعدام آروین خیرخواهان حوالی ساعت چهار بامداد امروز اجرا شد.

یک منبع نزدیک به خانواده این زندانی با تایید این خبر به هرانا گفت که مسوولان زندان تاکنون پیکر او را به بستگانش تحویل نداده‌اند. به گفته این منبع، به خانواده اعلام شده است که ساعت سه بامداد فردا برای تحویل پیکر مراجعه کنند و مراسم خاکسپاری نیز باید ساعت پنج بامداد برگزار شود.

آروین خیرخواهان در جریان اعتراضات دی‌ماه ۱۴۰۴ بازداشت و سپس از سوی شعبه یک دادگاه انقلاب شاهرود با اتهام «محاربه» به اعدام محکوم شد. این حکم پس از اعتراض، در دادگاه تجدیدنظر و دیوان عالی کشور نیز بدون تغییر تایید شد.

تاکنون جزییات دقیقی درباره زمان و نحوه بازداشت، مصادیق اتهامی، روند بازجویی، دسترسی این زندانی به وکیل انتخابی و مستندات مورد استناد دادگاه برای صدور حکم اعدام منتشر نشده است.

هرانا نوشته است، آروین خیرخواهان هنگام اجرای حکم اعدام ۱۹ سال و شش ماه سن داشت.
