Israel's Channel 12 reported on Sunday, August 1, that Abbas Araqchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, agreed last night to a reconciliation proposal formulated by Qatari and American mediators regarding the mechanism for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

The network cited two diplomats familiar with the details of the negotiations, stating that Araqchi's positive response was one of the reasons why Donald Trump, the President of the United States, agreed to cancel the attack on Iran.

Fars News Agency, citing two "informed sources," denied Channel 12's report about Abbas Araqchi's agreement to the plan for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

A source close to the Iranian nuclear negotiating team told the news agency that no agreement has been reached regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and that the reports published in this regard are "false."

Fars also quoted a military source stating that as long as "America's hostile actions" continue, the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed, and the passage of vessels will only be possible through the announced route and with the permission of the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

خبرگزاری فارس به نقل از دو «منبع آگاه» گزارش کانال ۱۲ اسرائیل درباره موافقت عباس عراقچی، وزیر امور خارجه جمهوری اسلامی، با طرح بازگشایی تنگۀ هرمز را تکذیب کرد.

یک منبع نزدیک به تیم مذاکره‌کننده هسته‌ای ایران به این خبرگزاری گفت هیچ توافقی درباره بازگشایی تنگۀ هرمز حاصل نشده و اخبار منتشرشده در این زمینه «کذب» است.

فارس همچنین به نقل از یک منبع نظامی نوشت تا زمانی که «اقدامات خصمانه آمریکا» ادامه داشته باشد، تنگۀ هرمز مسدود خواهد ماند و عبور شناورها تنها از مسیر اعلام‌شده و با مجوز نیروی دریایی سپاه پاسداران امکان‌پذیر است.
