Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, described the memorandum of understanding signed between Tehran and Washington as the "result of the collective wisdom of the members of the Shiam" and wrote: "We must strive to compel the enemy to adhere to what they have signed."

On Sunday, August 1, Pezeshkian wrote on the social media platform X: "The memorandum that was signed is the result of the collective wisdom of the members of Shiam, and all members are in agreement with it. I believe this memorandum will be the focal point of our foreign relations in the future. We must strive to compel the enemy to adhere to what they have signed. The security of the country, the region, and our allies will be enhanced by this memorandum."

At the same time, Channel 12 of Israel reported, citing informed sources, that regional countries are mediating to bring the U.S. and Iran back to the memorandum of understanding that was signed between the two parties last month.

According to this report, the proposed agreement includes keeping the Strait of Hormuz open for 60 days without tolls and extending the ceasefire between Tehran and Washington. Channel 12 reported that the previous memorandum fell apart due to disagreements over the management of the Strait of Hormuz, with Donald Trump emphasizing the complete openness of this waterway, while Tehran believed this agreement would allow the Islamic Republic to determine the passage routes for ships.

مسعود پزشکیان، رییس‌جمهوری ایران، در پیامی یادداشت تفاهم امضا شده میان تهران و واشنگتن را «حاصل خرد جمعی اعضای شعام» توصیف کرد و نوشت: «باید بکوشیم دشمن را وادار کنیم به آنچه امضا کرده پایبند بماند.»

پزشکیان روز یکشنبه ۱۱ مرداد در شبکه اجتماعی ایکس نوشت: «تفاهم‌نامه‌ای که امضا شد حاصل خرد جمعی اعضای شعام بود و همه اعضا با آن همدل‌اند. باور دارم این تفاهم‌نامه مرکز ثقل روابط خارجی ما در آینده خواهد بود. باید بکوشیم دشمن را وادار کنیم به آنچه امضا کرده پایبند بماند. امنیت کشور، منطقه و هم‌پیمانان ما با این تفاهم‌نامه ارتقا می‌یابد.»

همزمان، کانال ۱۲ اسراییل به نقل از منابع آگاه گزارش داد کشورهای منطقه در حال میانجیگری برای بازگرداندن آمریکا و ایران به یادداشت تفاهمی هستند که ماه گذشته میان دو طرف امضا شد.

بر اساس این گزارش، توافق پیشنهادی شامل باز ماندن تنگه هرمز به مدت ۶۰ روز بدون دریافت عوارض و تمدید آتش‌بس میان تهران و واشینگتن است. کانال ۱۲ گزارش داد یادداشت تفاهم پیشین به دلیل اختلاف بر سر نحوه مدیریت تنگه هرمز از هم پاشید؛ به گونه‌ای که دونالد ترامپ بر باز بودن کامل این آبراه تاکید داشت، در حالی که تهران معتقد بود این توافق به جمهوری اسلامی اجازه می‌دهد مسیر عبور کشتی‌ها را تعیین کند.
