The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic states that there are currently no negotiations ongoing between Iran and the United States.

Ismail Baghaei, in his weekly meeting with reporters on Monday, August 12, added that what is currently happening are bilateral negotiations between the coastal states of Iran and Oman. He mentioned that "the presence of others in these negotiations can be constructive or destructive, but the matter is between Iran and Oman."

His remarks come at a time when Donald Trump, the President of the United States, announced that negotiations with Iran would begin on Monday afternoon, August 12. However, on Sunday, while returning from a weekend vacation in New Jersey to Washington, he did not clarify where these negotiations would take place or who would participate in them.

The spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament stated that there is currently "no discussion" on negotiating with the U.S. Hassan Qashqavi, in an interview published by the Student News Agency, added that the Iranian government, especially regarding the nuclear issue, does not negotiate with Washington. He did not provide details but stated: "Even in other potential avenues, the nuclear issue has not been raised, and the future of this case is completely clear in the relevant texts." This parliament member identified the current priority of the Islamic Republic as "the lifting of primary and secondary sanctions in Congress and the return of Iran's frozen assets."

سخنگوی وزارت خارجه جمهوری اسلامی، می‌گوید در حال حاضر مذاکره‌ای بین ایران و آمریکا در جریان نیست.

اسماعیل بقائی در نشست هفتگی خود با خبرنگاران در روز دوشنبه ۱۲ مرداد، افزود آنچه در حال حاضر در جریان است، مذاکرات دو جانبه و بین دو دولت ساحلی ایران و عمان است.
او می‌گوید که «حضور دیگران در این مذاکرات می‌تواند سازنده یا مخرب باشد اما موضوع بین ایران و عمان است.»

اظهارات او در شرایطی بیان می‌شود که دونالد ترامپ، رئیس‌جمهور آمریکا، اعلام کرده که مذاکرات با ایران بعدازظهر دوشنبه ۱۲ مرداد آغاز خواهد شد.
با این حال او روز یکشنبه، هنگام بازگشت از تعطیلات آخر هفته در نیوجرسی به واشینگتن، به خبرنگاران توضیح نداد این مذاکرات در کجا برگزار می‌شود یا چه کسانی در آن شرکت خواهند کرد.

سخنگوی کمیسیون امنیت ملی و سیاست خارجی مجلس می‌گوید در حال حاضر «هیچ بحثی» برای مذاکره با آمریکا در دستور کار قرار ندارد.
حسن قشقاوی در گفت‌و‌گویی که خبرگزاری دانشجو منتشر کرده، افزوده که حکومت ایران به‌ویژه در پرونده هسته‌ای، با واشینگتن مذاکره نمی‌کند.
