Despite increasing hopes for an end to the conflict between Israel and Palestinian groups, Gaza relief officials announced that Israeli airstrikes for the second consecutive day targeted various areas of the region on Sunday, August 1, claiming the lives of at least 18 Palestinians.

According to Palestinian health officials, from early Sunday morning, Israeli fighter jets targeted Gaza City in the north, Deir al-Balah in the center, and Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip, resulting in the highest daily casualty count in recent weeks.

This comes as Donald Trump, the President of the United States, reported progress in efforts to implement last year's ceasefire agreement.

علی‌رغم افزایش امیدها برای دستیابی به پایان درگیری‌ها میان اسرائیل و گروه‌های فلسطینی، مقامات امدادی غزه اعلام کردند حملات هوایی اسرائیل برای دومین روز پیاپی به مناطق مختلف این منطقه در روز یکشنبه یازدهم مرداد، جان دست‌کم ۱۸ فلسطینی را گرفت.

به گفته مقام‌های بهداشتی فلسطینی، از بامداد یکشنبه، جنگنده‌های اسرائیلی شهر غزه در شمال، شهر دیرالبلح در مرکز و منطقه خان‌یونس در جنوب نوار غزه را هدف قرار دادند که بیشترین شمار تلفات روزانه در چند هفته اخیر را بر جا گذاشت.

این در حالی است که دونالد ترامپ، رئیس‌جمهور آمریکا، از دستیابی به یک پیشرفت در تلاش‌ها برای اجرای توافق آتش‌بس سال گذشته خبر داده بود.
