On Tuesday, August 1, the Indian Minister of Shipping announced that a projectile struck an Indian-flagged ship near Yemen, causing it to capsize and sink.

Sarbananda Sonowal wrote in a message on X that all 14 crew members on board, including 13 Indian nationals, were rescued by the Yemeni Coast Guard and transferred to the port of Mokha.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs also stated that the commercial vessel named "MSV Faiz Noor Aliya" sank on August 1 in the Red Sea off the coast of Yemen, and the ministry is coordinating with Yemeni authorities regarding this incident.

Indian refineries have turned to receiving oil shipments from the Middle East on a delivered basis since the Houthi attacks on several Saudi oil tankers.

Navigation in the Red Sea near the Yemeni coast has been disrupted due to actions by the Tehran-aligned Houthis. By disrupting Saudi oil exports, the Houthis have expanded the scope of the conflict between the U.S. and Iran. Previously, oil supply through the Strait of Hormuz had also been disrupted.

وزیر کشتیرانی هند روز سه‌شنبه ۱۳ مرداد اعلام کرد که یک پرتابه به یک کشتی با پرچم هند در نزدیکی یمن اصابت کرد که باعث واژگونی و غرق شدن آن شد.

ساربانا‌ندا سونووال در پیامی در شبکهٔ ایکس نوشت که اما هر ۱۴ ملوان حاضر در کشتی، از جمله ۱۳ تبعهٔ هند، توسط گارد ساحلی یمن نجات یافته و به بندر مخا منتقل شدند.

وزارت خارجه هند نیز اعلام کرد که این کشتی تجاری به نام «ام‌اس‌وی فیض نور علیا» روز ۱۳ مرداد در دریای سرخ و در سواحل یمن غرق شده و این وزارتخانه در حال هماهنگی با مقام‌های یمنی دربارهٔ این حادثه است.

پالایشگاه‌های هند از زمان حملات حوثی‌ها به چند نفتکش سعودی، به دریافت محموله‌های نفتی خاورمیانه به‌صورت تحویلی روی آورده‌اند.

تردد در دریای سرخ در نزدیکی سواحل یمن به‌دلیل اقدامات حوثی‌های همسو با تهران مختل شده است. حوثی‌ها با ایجاد اختلال در صادرات نفت عربستان، دامنه درگیری میان آمریکا و ایران را گسترش داده‌اند. پیش‌تر نیز عرضه نفت از طریق تنگه هرمز مختل شده بود.
