Following reports of the missile attack by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic on an Emirati oil tanker in the Persian Gulf on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates issued a statement strongly condemning this attack, stating that there were no casualties.

On Saturday, August 7, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs described this attack as a clear violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817; a resolution that emphasizes the freedom of navigation and opposes targeting commercial vessels or disrupting international maritime routes.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stated that targeting commercial shipping and using the Strait of Hormuz as a tool for pressure or economic extortion constitutes "piracy" by the Revolutionary Guards and poses a direct threat to regional stability, its people, and global energy security.

The UAE called on Tehran officials to stop these attacks and fully adhere to halting all hostile actions. Abu Dhabi also demanded the complete and unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to ensure regional security and the stability of the global economy and trade.
