The President of the United States says Washington has three strategies for the Islamic Republic and is currently focusing on maritime blockade and economic pressure.
Donald Trump, in an interview with the program "America Speaks" on the "Voice of America" network, said: "We can just let them go, and they will fail. We can continue doing what we are doing now; move forward in a somewhat calm and easy manner." He described the second option as "really hitting hard" and the third option as "defeating them economically," adding that the third option is currently being implemented.
Trump stated: "Economically, they are a mess. They can't borrow money. We control their money; the money they had, which was a lot. I am their banker."
He added: "They have 300 percent inflation. Their money is worthless. They are not paying their soldiers. Their soldiers are leaving them. Just keep this situation going because it is not sustainable."
Trump called the Islamic Republic's negotiators "very deceptive" and said: "They agree to something and then go to the media and say they didn't do it."

دونالد ترامپ در گفتوگو با برنامه «آمریکا سخن میگوید» در شبکه «صدای واقعی آمریکا» گفت: «میتوانیم همینطور رهایشان کنیم و آنها شکست خواهند خورد. میتوانیم همین کاری را که الان میکنیم ادامه بدهیم؛ بهنوعی آرام و راحت جلو برویم.» او گزینه دوم را «واقعاً سخت ضربه زدن» و گزینه سوم را «شکستدادن آنها از نظر اقتصادی» خواند و افزود گزینه سوم هماکنون در حال اجراست.
ترامپ گفت: «از نظر اقتصادی، آنها بههمریختهاند. نمیتوانند پول قرض کنند. ما پولشان را کنترل میکنیم؛ پولی که داشتند و مقدارش هم زیاد بود. من بانکدار آنها هستم.»
او افزود: «آنها ۳۰۰ درصد تورم دارند. پولشان هیچ ارزشی ندارد. به سربازانشان حقوق نمیدهند. سربازانشان دارند ترکشان میکنند. فقط همین وضعیت را ادامه بدهید، چون قابل دوام نیست.»
ترامپ مذاکرهکنندگان جمهوری اسلامی را «بسیار فریبکار» خواند و گفت: «با چیزی موافقت میکنند و بعد میروند به رسانهها میگویند که چنین کاری نکردهاند.»
