Mohsen Rezaei, the new Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic, stated in his first position after being appointed to this role that for the Strait of Hormuz to be opened, the United States must end the war and pay Iran's frozen funds.

According to Iranian media, during a meeting with the Chinese ambassador in Tehran, he said that as long as the U.S. "does not change its behavior and does not accept Iran's conditions," Iran will not take action to open the Strait of Hormuz. He listed the end of the war and the release of Iran's frozen funds as two of Iran's conditions.

This comes as Donald Trump, the President of the United States, told reporters at the White House on Monday that the United States has "cleared mines" from the entire Strait of Hormuz and has full control over it.

Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr, the former Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, who Rezaei has replaced, had raised similar conditions last week.

Regarding the ongoing negotiations between the Islamic Republic and the Sultanate of Oman about transit through the Strait of Hormuz, Rezaei also mentioned that if an agreement is reached between the two countries, "this agreement will be a separate issue from the blockage of the Strait of Hormuz."

محسن رضایی، دبیر جدید شورای عالی امنیت ملی جمهوری اسلامی، در نخستین موضع‌گیری پس از انتصاب به این سمت اعلام کرد برای باز شدن تنگه هرمز، آمریکا باید جنگ را پایان دهد و پول‌های مسدود شده ایران را بپردازد.

به گزارش رسانه‌های ایران، او در دیدار با سفیر چین در تهران گفت تا زمانی که آمریکا «رفتار خود را تغییر ندهد و شروط ایران را نپذیرد» ایران اقدام به باز کردن تنگه هرمز نخواهد کرد. او پایان جنگ و آزاد کردن پول‌های مسدود شده ایران را دو عنوان از شرط‌های ایران برشمرد.

این در حالی است که دونالد ترامپ، رئیس‌جمهور آمریکا، روز دوشنبه در کاخ سفید به خبرنگاران گفت ایالات متحده کل تنگه هرمز را «مین‌روبی» کرده و کنترل کامل آن را در دست دارد.

محمدباقر ذوالقدر، دبیر سابق شورای عالی امنیت ملی، که رضایی جایگزین او شده است، هفته گذشته شروط مشابهی مطرح کرده بود.

محسن رضایی درباره مذاکرات جمهوری اسلامی با سلطنت عمان درباره عبور و مرور در تنگه هرمز که طی هفته‌های اخیر در جریان است، نیز گفت اگر بین دو کشور توافقی در این زمینه حاصل شود، «این توافق موضوعی جدا از انسداد تنگه هرمز خواهد بود».
