The U.S. Vice President stated that the main priority of the United States in the war with Iran is no longer the country's nuclear program, but rather reducing gasoline prices for American consumers.

JD Vance told Fox News that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons is now a secondary priority compared to restoring the free flow of oil through the Strait.

The U.S. Vice President added, "I know that oil prices have decreased today and are much lower than the peak prices in the early days of the conflict. This is the number one goal; keeping oil and gas affordable for Americans across our country." He emphasized, "And of course, the number two goal is to ensure that Iran never obtains nuclear weapons."

These remarks come as Donald Trump, the U.S. President, has consistently cited Iran's nuclear program as his main reason for the war.

معاون رئیس‌جمهور آمریکا گفت که اولویت اصلی ایالات متحده در جنگ با ایران دیگر برنامه هسته‌ای این کشور نیست، بلکه کاهش قیمت بنزین برای مصرف‌کنندگان آمریکایی است.

جی‌دی ونس به شبکه فاکس نیوز گفت که جلوگیری از دستیابی ایران به سلاح هسته‌ای اکنون در مقایسه با برقراری مجدد جریان آزاد نفت از طریق این تنگه، در اولویت دوم قرار گرفته است.

معاون رئیس‌جمهور آمریکا افزود: «می‌دانم که قیمت نفت امروز کاهش یافته و نسبت به اوج قیمت‌ها در روزهای اولیه درگیری بسیار پایین‌تر آمده است. این هدف شماره یک است؛ ارزان نگه داشتن نفت و گاز برای آمریکایی‌ها در سراسر کشورمان».
او تصریح کرد: «و البته هدف شماره دو این است که اطمینان حاصل کنیم ایران هرگز به سلاح هسته‌ای دست پیدا نمی‌کند».

این اظهارات در حالی است که دونالد ترامپ، رئیس‌جمهور آمریکا، همواره برنامه هسته‌ای ایران را به عنوان دلیل اصلی خود برای جنگ مطرح کرده است.
