The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported, citing Al Arabiya, that the positions of American forces near Erbil Airport, the center of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, have been targeted in a drone attack. According to the report, several drones have been fired at the positions of American forces, and local sources say that one of them directly hit one of these positions. Al Arabiya also reported that during this attack, American defense systems were not activated, and only American fighter jets were deployed to intercept the drones. Following this attack, Erbil Airport has been temporarily closed.

صداوسیمای جمهوری اسلامی به نقل از شبکه العربیه گزارش داد که مواضع نیروهای آمریکایی در نزدیکی فرودگاه اربیل، مرکز اقلیم کردستان عراق، هدف حمله پهپادی قرار گرفته است.
بر اساس این گزارش، چندین پهپاد به سمت مواضع نیروهای آمریکایی شلیک شده‌اند و به گفته منابع محلی، یکی از آن‌ها به‌طور مستقیم به یکی از این مواضع اصابت کرده است.
العربیه همچنین گزارش داد که در جریان این حمله، سامانه‌های پدافندی آمریکا فعال نشده‌اند و تنها جنگنده‌های آمریکایی برای رهگیری پهپادها وارد عمل شده‌اند.
در پی این حمله، فرودگاه اربیل به‌طور موقت بسته شده است.
