During a clash among mourners in the courtyard of the shrine of the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims in Mashhad, at least two people were injured.

According to Tasnim, this altercation occurred on Thursday, August 22, around 10:30 PM.

Iranian media report that various groups were performing mourning rituals with special sticks when a conflict suddenly broke out between two groups, and the mourners began throwing their sticks at each other.

Tasnim quoted Amirollah Shamghadari, the secretary of the Security Council of Khorasan Razavi, stating that two injured individuals were transferred to the hospital and their condition is stable.

The Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, noted that the clash involving sticks among some attendees in the courtyard of the "eighth Imam of Shia Muslims" and religious groups in Mashhad on Thursday evening was a natural and manageable occurrence due to differences in opinions on entry and exit methods or fatigue from the heat, and it should not lead to a fight.

در جریان یک درگیری میان عزاداران در صحن حرم امام هشتم شیعیان در مشهد، دست‌کم دو نفر زخمی شدند.

به گزارش تسنیم، این درگیری پنجشنبه ۲۲ مرداد حدود ۱۰ و ۳۰ دقیقه شب رخ داده است.

رسانه‌های ایران می‌گویند هیئت‌های مختلف با چوب‌های مخصوص عزاداری مشغول اجرای مراسم بودند که ناگهان میان دو هیئت درگیری شکل گرفت و عزاداران چوب‌های خود را به سمت یکدیگر پرتاب کردند.

تسنیم به نقل از امیرالله شمقدری، دبیر شورای تامین خراسان رضوی نوشت که دو نفر زخمی به بیمارستان منتقل شده‌اند و حال آنان مساعد است.
