Trump: I Will Declare the Strait of Hormuz as U.S. Territory

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, stated during a speech to law enforcement officials in Long Island, New York, that once we finish defeating Iran, which is currently struggling to be defeated, I will soon declare the Strait of Hormuz as U.S. territory. Essentially, that’s the situation; we have the blockade in hand, and no ship will pass through it unless we allow it.

Brian Schwartz, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, writes that according to a senior White House official, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has not had a meeting with his advisors about declaring the Strait of Hormuz as U.S. territory and was joking when he brought up the topic in his speech on Friday in New York.
Mr. Trump laughed after making his remarks about the Strait of Hormuz. He has previously discussed how the media interprets his jokes.
The President of the United States mentioned in his speech on Friday that the U.S. effectively controls the Strait of Hormuz because no vessel can pass through it without U.S. permission.
