The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and the main negotiator with the United States says that Tehran will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz until the blockade of Iranian ports by the U.S. is lifted and certain other conditions are met.
Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf stated on Tuesday, August 16, in his pre-speech remarks at the Assembly, that Iran's other conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz include "the release of frozen assets, lifting of oil sanctions, and ending threats and military operations on all fronts, along with other conditions" of the Islamabad agreement.
