Abdolnaser Hemmati, the head of Iran's Central Bank, confirmed in a television interview that Iran's oil exports are currently halted.

On Wednesday evening, August 28, he expressed hope that the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States would be revived and negotiations would resume.

This is the first time an official from the Islamic Republic has officially announced the "halt" of Iran's oil exports.

In recent weeks, some officials from the Islamic Republic have warned about a new wave of protests in light of the intensifying economic and livelihood crisis, stating their readiness to deal with it.

عبدالناصر همتی، رئیس بانک مرکزی ایران، در یک گفت‌وگوی تلویزیونی تأیید کرد که صادرات نفت ایران در حال حاضر متوقف شده است.

او شامگاه چهارشنبه ۲۸ مرداد اظهار امیدواری کرد که تفاهم‌نامهٔ ایران و آمریکا احیا و مذاکرات از سر گرفته شود.

این نخستین بار است که یک مقام رسمی جمهوری اسلامی به شکل رسمی از «توقف» صادرات نفت ایران خبر می‌دهد.

در هفته‌های اخیر برخی مقام‌های جمهوری اسلامی با اشاره به تشدید بحران اقتصادی و معیشتی، نسبت به دور تازه اعتراض‌ها هشدار داده و از آمادگی برای برخورد با آن خبر داده‌اند.
