Hamidreza Hajibabaei, the second deputy speaker of the parliament, stated on Thursday, August 29, in an interview with the Fars news agency regarding developments related to the Strait of Hormuz and the efforts of some countries to create alternative oil transport routes: "Anyone who is laying pipelines to weaken the Strait of Hormuz is essentially firing missiles at us. We must not allow new pipelines to be established."

He emphasized that the construction of these routes serves the interests of the United States, adding: "Any country that assists the U.S. in terms of technology or information has effectively entered into a war with us. The construction of pipelines such as Fujairah and Yanbu to reduce the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz is a clear example of war and missile attacks against our country, and our response should be to prevent the establishment of such pipelines."

These remarks come as Houthi militants in Yemen, affiliated with the Islamic Republic, have recently attempted to disrupt energy exports from the Bab el-Mandeb Strait by attacking vessels present in the area. On the other hand, the Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC) also reported on Thursday that the southern passage of the Strait of Hormuz has widened, allowing for the simultaneous passage of incoming and outgoing ships. The CEO of Aramco also announced on August 4 that this oil giant continues its oil exports relying on the East-West pipeline of Saudi Arabia, the Suez Canal, and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

Mostafa Khoshchashm, a media expert, suggested in an interview that "the forces of the resistance axis" should mine the Florida Gulf using "smart sea mines." حمیدرضا حاجی‌بابایی، نایب‌رئیس دوم مجلس، روز پنجشنبه ۲۹ مردادماه در گفت‌وگو با خبرگزاری فارس با اشاره به تحولات مرتبط با تنگه هرمز و تلاش برخی کشورها برای ایجاد مسیرهای جایگزین انتقال نفت، گفت: «کسی که امروز خط لوله می‌کشد تا تنگه هرمز را تضعیف کند، در واقع به ما موشک می‌زند. نباید اجازه دهیم خطوط لوله جدید ایجاد شود.»

او با تاکید بر اینکه احداث این مسیرها در راستای منافع ایالات متحده است، افزود: «هر کشوری که در زمینه فناوری یا اطلاعات به آمریکا کمک کند، عملا وارد جنگ با ما شده است. احداث خطوط لوله‌ای نظیر فجیره و ینبع برای کاستن از اهمیت راهبردی تنگه هرمز، مصداق بارز جنگ و حمله موشکی علیه کشور است و پاسخ ما باید ممانعت از ایجاد چنین خطوطی باشد.»

این اظهارات در حالی مطرح می‌شود که شبه‌نظامیان حوثی یمن، وابسته به جمهوری اسلامی، در هفته‌های اخیر با حمله به کشتی‌های حاضر تنگه باب‌المندب تلاش کرده‌اند صادرات انرژی از این آبراه را مختل کنند.
از سوی دیگر، مرکز مشترک اطلاعات دریایی (JMIC)نیز، روز پنجشنبه، از عریض‌تر شدن گذرگاه جنوبی تنگه هرمز خبر داده و اعلام کرده بود این تغییر امکان تردد هم‌زمان کشتی‌های ورودی و خروجی را فراهم می‌کند.
مدیرعامل آرامکو نیز روز ۱۳ مرداد ماه، اعلام کرده بود این غول نفتی با تکیه بر خط لوله شرق به غرب عربستان سعودی، کانال سوئر و تنگه باب‌المندب، به صادرات نفت خود ادامه می‌دهد.
