"Farzaneh Fasihi," the Olympic runner from Iran, has stated that she was threatened after protesting the killing of protesters in January 2025, and officials have prevented her from participating in the World Championships.

Fasihi wrote on her Instagram page that she has been warned multiple times during this period: "Be careful with your behavior; you know that the World Championships and the Asian Games are coming up."

She continued, "That's what happened. They took away the World Championships, which is the biggest dream and aspiration of every athlete; I will also give you the Asian Games."

This Iranian runner has claimed to be the only athlete from Iran who secured a quota for the World Championships and finished the season in first place in the Asian rankings, but officials have refused to register her for these competitions.

Fasihi wrote about her silence in recent months: "I wrote and deleted hundreds of times. No sentence could describe the depth of the oppression, injustice, and betrayal that was done to me."

Without mentioning the identities of the individuals or entities that threatened her, she stated that she has begun pursuing her rights through legal channels and will not allow her rights "as a female Iranian athlete" to be trampled.

In conclusion, she wrote: "I will continue to run; for my people, for my dreams." She also expressed hope that "justice will replace oppression, merit will replace favoritism, and purity will replace corruption."

Farzaneh Fasihi previously expressed her anger and sorrow over the killing of protesters in a text she posted on Instagram in February 2025, following the suppression of nationwide protests in January.

Fasihi is a prominent figure in Iranian women's athletics and holds the record for the 60-meter indoor race in Iran. She also participated in the Tokyo and Paris Olympic Games.

«فرزانه فصیحی»، دونده المپیکی ایران، گفته است پس از اعتراض به کشتار معترضان در دی‌ماه ۱۴۰۴ تهدید شده و مسئولان مانع حضور او در مسابقات قهرمانی جهان شده‌اند.

فصیحی در صفحه اینستاگرام خود نوشت که در این مدت بارها به او هشدار داده‌اند: «مراقب رفتارت باش، می‌دانی که قهرمانی جهان و بازی‌های آسیایی در پیش است.»

او در ادامه نوشت: «همان شد. قهرمانی جهان را که بزرگ‌ترین رویا و آرزوی هر ورزشکاری است، از من گرفتند؛ بازی‌های آسیایی را هم خودم تقدیم‌تان می‌کنم.»
این دونده ایرانی گفته است تنها ورزشکار ایران بوده که سهمیه حضور در مسابقات جهانی را به دست آورده و فصل را در جایگاه نخست رده‌بندی آسیا به پایان رسانده، اما مسئولان از ثبت‌نام او در این رقابت‌ها خودداری کرده‌اند.

فصیحی درباره سکوت خود در ماه‌های گذشته نوشت: «صدها بار نوشتم و پاک کردم. هیچ جمله‌ای نمی‌توانست عمق ظلم، بی‌عدالتی و خیانتی را که در حق من شد، توصیف کند.»

او بدون اشاره به هویت افراد یا نهادهایی که تهدیدش کرده‌اند، گفته است پیگیری حقوق خود را از مسیرهای قانونی آغاز کرده و اجازه نخواهد داد حقش «به‌عنوان یک ورزشکار زن ایرانی» پایمال شود.

این ورزشکار در پایان نوشت: «من همچنان می‌دوم؛ برای مردمم، برای رویاهایم.» او همچنین ابراز امیدواری کرد که «عدالت جای ظلم، شایستگی جای رانت و پاکی جای فساد را بگیرد.»

فرزانه فصیحی پیش‌تر در بهمن‌ماه ۱۴۰۴ و پس از سرکوب اعتراضات سراسری دی‌ماه، با انتشار متنی در اینستاگرام از خشم و اندوه خود نسبت به کشته‌شدن معترضان نوشته بود.

فصیحی از چهره‌های مطرح دوومیدانی زنان ایران و دارنده رکورد دوی ۶۰ متر داخل سالن ایران است. او در بازی‌های المپیک توکیو و پاریس نیز حضور داشت.
