JD Vance, the Vice President of the United States, stated in an interview with Newsmax that despite the Islamic Republic's efforts to close the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. has managed to export between 7 to 15 million barrels of oil daily through this route.

Vance mentioned that Washington is working to prevent an energy crisis that he claims the Islamic Republic is trying to create. He added that one of America's most powerful tools is "forcing Tehran to pay the price for attempting to choke off oil and gas trade." The U.S. Vice President emphasized that the Islamic Republic does not have the capability to cut off international trade routes, which reduces Tehran's leverage.

The U.S. Vice President stated that Washington has multiple tools at its disposal to counter the Islamic Republic, some of which are "decisive" and others economic.

Vance also stressed that the primary and fundamental goal of the U.S. presence in the Middle East is to prevent the Islamic Republic from acquiring nuclear weapons.

جی‌دی ونس، معاون رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا، در گفت‌وگو با نیوزمکس گفت با وجود تلاش‌های جمهوری اسلامی برای بستن تنگه هرمز، آمریکا موفق شده است روزانه بین هفت تا ۱۵ میلیون بشکه نفت را از این مسیر خارج کند.

ونس گفت واشینگتن در تلاش است مانع وقوع بحران انرژی شود که به گفته او جمهوری اسلامی در پی ایجاد آن است. او افزود یکی از قدرتمندترین ابزارهای آمریکا، «وادار کردن تهران به پرداخت هزینه تلاش برای خفه کردن تجارت نفت و گاز» است. معاون رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا تاکید کرد جمهوری اسلامی توانایی قطع مسیرهای تجارت بین‌المللی را ندارد و این مسئله اهرم‌های فشار تهران را کاهش می‌دهد.

معاون رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا گفت واشینگتن ابزارهای متعددی برای مقابله با جمهوری اسلامی در اختیار دارد که به گفته او برخی «قاطع» و برخی دیگر اقتصادی هستند.

ونس همچنین تاکید کرد هدف نخست و اساسی حضور آمریکا در خاورمیانه جلوگیری از دستیابی جمهوری اسلامی به سلاح هسته‌ای است.
