The UK Maritime Trade Organization announced that a tanker was targeted by an unknown projectile 63 miles from the port city of Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.

The organization stated that the incident occurred on Monday, September 2, and noted that as a result of the impact from the unknown projectile, part of the ship's deck caught fire, but the crew is in good health. The UK Maritime Trade Organization also reported that no environmental damage has been reported as a result of this incident.

The name and flag of the tanker have not been disclosed, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

Yanbu is the main energy export terminal for Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea. The Houthis of Yemen declared a ban on navigation for Saudi and Saudi-related ships on July 20, and since then, they have claimed responsibility for multiple attacks on tankers.

سازمان دریانوردی تجاری بریتانیا اعلام کرد: یک نفتکش در ۶۳ مایلی شهر بندری ینبع عربستان سعودی، هدف پرتابه ناشناس قرار گرفت.

این سازمان زمان حادثه فوق را روز دوشنبه دوم شهریورماه اعلام کرد و یادآور شد:‌ بر اثر اصابت پرتابه ناشناس، قسمتی از عرشه کشتی دچار آتش‌ سوزی شد، اما خدمه در سلامت کامل هستند.
سازمان دریانوردی تجاری بریتانیا همچنین اعلام کرد که تاکنون خسارات زیست محیطی بر اثر این حادثه گزارش نشده است.

نام و پرچم نفتکش اعلام نشده و تاکنون هیچ گروهی مسئولیت حمله را بر عهده نگرفته است.

ینبع پایانه اصلی صادرات انرژی عربستان در دریای سرخ است. حوثی‌های یمن ۲۰ جولای ممنوعیت دریانوردی برای کشتی‌های سعودی و مرتبط با عربستان اعلام کردند و از آن زمان حملات متعددی به نفتکش‌ها را بر عهده گرفته‌اند.
