Field Marshal Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, arrived in Tehran on Monday, September 2.

Mohsin Raza Naqvi, the Interior Minister of Pakistan, is accompanying him on his trip to the Iranian capital.

The Pakistan Army issued a statement announcing that this senior military leader's visit to Tehran "is part of Islamabad's efforts to enhance regional peace and stability and will focus on discussions with Iranian officials to strengthen peace efforts and find a peaceful, sustainable, and comprehensive solution to Middle Eastern conflicts." The IRNA news agency reported that Asim Munir will meet with senior officials of the Islamic Republic.

Reuters, citing several Pakistani officials, reported that Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, spoke on the phone with Donald Trump last week before his trip to Tehran.

Three Pakistani sources told Reuters that this call took place a few days before Munir was expected to travel to Tehran on Monday for discussions with Islamic Republic officials.

According to Reuters, this previously unreported call occurred amid the U.S. announcement of extensive economic sanctions against the Islamic Republic and its trading partners.

The report also mentioned that the Pakistani army chief is expected to meet with individuals close to Mojtaba Khamenei on Monday.

Reuters noted that tensions between the U.S. and the Islamic Republic are one of the anticipated focal points of this visit.

Another source in the Pakistani government stated, "Munir is also set to discuss the recent attacks by Houthi forces affiliated with the Islamic Republic on Saudi Arabia, Pakistan's ally."

Ismail Baqaei, the spokesperson for the Islamic Republic's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced on Monday, September 2, that Badr al-Busaidi, the Foreign Minister of Oman, will travel to Tehran on Tuesday.

According to the IRNA news agency, Baqaei told reporters that Busaidi will meet with Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, in Tehran.

Following the U.S. and Israeli attacks and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the Islamic Republic has begun negotiations with Oman to define a new legal regime for the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran, Muscat, and Doha report progress in these negotiations; however, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, threatened last week that if Oman obstructs the "agreement" between Tehran and Washington, he would bomb the country.

Busaidi was the mediator in two rounds of negotiations between the Islamic Republic and the United States last year. Both rounds ended without results and were followed by U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran.

محسن رضا نقوی، وزیر کشور پاکستان او را در سفر به پایتخت ایران همراهی می‌کند.

ارتش پاکستان با صدور بیانیه‌ای اعلام کرد سفر این فرمانده ارشد نظامی به تهران «در راستای تلاش‌های اسلام‌آباد برای ارتقای صلح و ثبات منطقه‌ای و مذاکره با مقام‌های ایرانی بر تقویت تلاش‌های صلح و یافتن راهکاری مسالمت‌آمیز، پایدار و جامع برای حل درگیری‌های خاورمیانه متمرکز خواهد بود.»

خبرگزاری رویترز به نقل از چند مقام پاکستانی اعلام کرد عاصم منیر، فرمانده ارتش پاکستان، هفته گذشته و پیش از سفر به تهران، با دونالد ترامپ تلفنی گفت‌وگو کرده است.

سه منبع پاکستانی در گفت‌وگو با رویترز تاکید کردند این تماس چند روز پیش از آن انجام شد که انتظار می‌رفت منیر دوشنبه برای گفت‌وگو با مقام‌های جمهوری اسلامی به تهران سفر کند.

به گزارش رویترز، این تماس که پیش از این گزارش نشده بود، در شرایطی انجام شد که آمریکا اعلام کرده است تحریم‌های اقتصادی گسترده‌ای را علیه جمهوری اسلامی و شرکای تجاری آن اعمال خواهد کرد.

در این گزارش همچنین آمده است انتظار می‌رود فرمانده ارتش پاکستان، دوشنبه با افرادی نزدیک به مجتبی خامنه‌ای، دیدار کند.

رویترز نوشت تنش‌های میان آمریکا و جمهوری اسلامی یکی از محورهای مورد انتظار در این سفر عنوان شده است.

یک منبع دیگر در دولت پاکستان نیز گفت: «منیر همچنین قرار است درباره حملات اخیر حوثی‌های وابسته به جمهوری اسلامی به عربستان سعودی، متحد پاکستان، گفت‌وگو کند.»

اسماعیل بقایی، سخنگوی وزارت امور خارجه جمهوری اسلامی روز دوشنبه دوم شهریور ماه اعلام کرد بدر البوسعیدی، وزیر امور خارجه عمان روز سه‌شنبه به تهران سفر می‌کند.

به گزارش خبرگزاری صداوسیما، بقایی به خبرنگاران گفت بوسعیدی در تهران با عباس عراقچی، وزیر امور خارجه جمهوری اسلامی دیدار می کند.

در پی حمله آمریکا و اسرائیل و بسته شدن تنگه هرمز، جمهوری اسلامی مذاکراتی را با عمان برای تعریف نظام حقوقی جدید تنگه هرمز، آغاز کرده است.
تهران، مسقط و دوحه از پیشرفت این مذاکرات خبر می‌دهند، با این حال دونالد ترامپ، رئیس جمهوری آمریکا هفته گذشته تهدید کرد که اگر عمان در مسیر «توافق» تهران و واشنگتن مانع ایجاد کند، این کشور را بمباران خواهد کرد.

البوسعیدی، سال گذشته میانجی دو دور مذاکرات میان جمهوری اسلامی و ایالات متحده بود. هر دو دور مذاکرات بدون نتیجه و با حملات آمریکا و اسرائیل به ایران پایان یافت.
