Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during a phone call on Monday, September 2, in a live television program on Channel 14 in Israel, responded to a question about security measures to protect his sons, stating that the Islamic Republic has targeted one of his sons and attempted to assassinate him.

According to the Times of Israel, Netanyahu, without providing further details, said: "Iran targeted one of my sons. Iran tried to kill one of my sons."

The Israeli Prime Minister defended his agreement with Shin Bet to ensure the security of his family members, stating: "Therefore, the security they receive is not a luxury."

The Times of Israel reported that Netanyahu defended this decision by referring to an agreement under which the security of his sons and his wife, Sara, will be provided for at least five years, even if he loses in the upcoming elections.

He added, referring to potential attackers: "Without this security, they would succeed."
It is unclear which of Netanyahu's sons, Yair or Avner, was the target of this assassination attempt and when and how this attempt occurred.

Avner lives in Israel, while Yair, who is more well-known than his brother, has spent most of the past years in Miami and is known for his extreme comments.

According to the Times of Israel, this attempt occurred while Yair Netanyahu was not in Israel, but it is unclear whether he was the target of this assassination attempt.

حدود یک ماه پیش نیز خبرگزاری تسنیم، نزدیک به سپاه، ویدئویی منتشر کرده بود که در آن شکاف‌های امنیتی پیرامون ملانیا ترامپ، همسر رئیس جمهور آمریکا، بررسی و درباره راه‌های هدف قرار دادن بانوی اول آمریکا بحث شده بود.

بنیامین نتانیاهو، نخست‌وزیر اسرائیل، روز دوشنبه دوم شهریور ماه، در جریان یک تماس تلفنی با برنامه زنده تلویزیونی در شبکه ۱۴ اسرائیل، در پاسخ به پرسشی درباره تدابیر امنیتی برای حفاظت از پسرانش گفت جمهوری اسلامی یکی از پسران او را هدف قرار داده و تلاش کرده است او را ترور کند.

به گزارش تایمز اسرائیل، نتانیاهو بدون ارائه جزئیات بیشتر گفت: «ایران یکی از پسرانم را هدف قرار داد. ایران سعی کرد یکی از پسرانم را بکشد، به قتل برساند.»

نخست‌وزیر اسرائیل در دفاع از توافق خود با شین‌بت برای تامین امنیت اعضای خانواده‌اش گفت: «بنابراین، امنیتی که آنها دریافت می‌کنند یک کالای لوکس نیست.»

تایمز اسرائیل نوشت، نتانیاهو با اشاره به توافقی که بر اساس آن امنیت پسرانش و همسرش، سارا، دست‌کم به مدت پنج سال، حتی در صورت شکست او در انتخابات آینده، تامین خواهد شد، از این تصمیم دفاع کرده است.
