Following the visit of Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi, the Omani Foreign Minister, to Tehran and consultations with Abbas Araghchi, his Iranian counterpart, the two countries issued a joint press statement regarding the resumption of safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to this statement, the foreign ministers of both countries emphasized the preservation of their sovereignty and sovereign rights, discussing a phased and implementable framework to address the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz and the consequences arising from the recent war.

The proposed framework includes the establishment of a temporary joint navigation passage through the Strait of Hormuz and the implementation of a joint project to clear the strait of mines. Under this agreement, technical negotiations between Tehran and Muscat will continue to achieve a permanent corridor, manage traffic, exchange information, and provide maritime and security services.

The two sides also emphasized the importance of joint discussions with the countries bordering the Persian Gulf, adherence to international law, and respect for the sovereign rights of coastal states.

در پی سفر بدر بن حمد البوسعیدی، وزیر امور خارجه عمان به تهران و رایزنی با عباس عراقچی، همتای ایرانی خود، دو کشور بیانیه مطبوعاتی مشترکی در خصوص از سرگیری دریانوردی ایمن از طریق تنگه هرمز منتشر کردند.

بر اساس این بیانیه، وزرای خارجه دو کشور با تاکید بر حفظ حاکمیت و حقوق حاکمیتی خود، درباره چارچوبی مرحله‌بندی‌شده و قابل اجرا برای مواجهه با وضعیت کنونی تنگه هرمز و پیامدهای ناشی از جنگ اخیر گفتگو کردند.

چارچوب پیشنهادی شامل ایجاد یک گذرگاه دریانوردی موقت مشترک از طریق تنگه هرمز و اجرای پروژه‌ای مشترک برای پاک‌سازی تنگه از مین است. طبق این توافق، مذاکرات فنی میان تهران و مسقط برای دست‌یابی به کریدور دائمی، مدیریت ترافیک، تبادل اطلاعات و ارائه خدمات دریانوردی و امنیتی ادامه خواهد داشت.

همچنین دو طرف بر اهمیت گفتگوهای مشترک با کشورهای هم‌مرز با خلیج فارس، رعایت حقوق بین‌الملل و احترام به حقوق حاکمیتی کشورهای ساحلی تأکید ورزیدند.
