Two informed sources regarding the discussions of Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, with officials from various countries, told Israel's Channel 12 that Washington currently does not expect new aggressive attacks against Iran and that the focus of Donald Trump's administration is on increasing economic pressure on Tehran and ensuring the security of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to these sources, Rubio has not ruled out the possibility of U.S. military action if Iran resumes hostilities.

This shift in approach coincides with the imposition of new sanctions against the Islamic Republic and Donald Trump's claim about clearing the Strait of Hormuz of naval mines.

According to the report, the Trump administration intends to increase economic pressures on Iran at this stage and create conditions for the normalization of shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. Informed sources told Channel 12 that this approach is expected to continue at least until the U.S. midterm elections in early November, after which the possibility of considering a broader military campaign may be revisited.
