Informed sources have told American media that John Ratcliffe, the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), during his secret trip to Moscow, asked Russian intelligence officials not to provide information that could assist Iran. It is also reported that the issue of Russia's support for Iran was one of the topics of his discussions with the Russian side.

This meeting is considered the first publicly acknowledged visit by a CIA Director to Moscow since 2021. The Kremlin has confirmed that Mr. Ratcliffe met with Russian intelligence officials, but he did not meet with Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia.

According to reports, John Ratcliffe also discussed U.S. concerns regarding the security of NATO member countries with Russian officials, in addition to the issue of Iran. However, American and Russian officials have not released official details about the content of the negotiations, and the CIA has refrained from commenting on this trip.

The Russian Foreign Minister says Moscow does not agree with charging fees for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz; however, he stated that this issue requires further negotiations.

According to Interfax news agency, Sergey Lavrov, in an interview with RBC television, referred to the Strait of Hormuz being open before the start of Israeli and American attacks on Iran on March 1 of last year, saying: "The Iranians are discussing transit fees just to ensure that the Strait of Hormuz is completely open today. There were no fees until the United States and Israel started that gamble."
Lavrov emphasized: "The Americans are now asking Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran says that in return, sanctions must be reduced or lifted. And they will do that."

The President of the United States said on Thursday that he no longer wants to negotiate with officials of the Islamic Republic.
Trump added that Russia has behaved appropriately in the Strait of Hormuz.

منابع آگاه به رسانه‌های آمریکا گفته‌اند جان رتکلیف، رئیس سازمان اطلاعات مرکزی آمریکا (سیا)، در جریان سفر محرمانه خود به مسکو از مقام‌های اطلاعاتی روسیه خواسته است اطلاعاتی را که می‌تواند به ایران کمک کند، در اختیار تهران قرار ندهند. همچنین گفته می‌شود موضوع حمایت روسیه از ایران از محورهای گفت‌وگوهای او با طرف روس بوده است.

این دیدار در جریان نخستین سفر برملا شده یک رئیس سیا به مسکو از سال ۲۰۲۱ به شمار می‌رود. کرملین تایید کرده است که آقای رتکلیف با مقام‌های اطلاعاتی روسیه دیدار کرده، اما با ولادیمیر پوتین، رئیس‌جمهور روسیه، ملاقات نداشته است.

بر اساس گزارش‌ها، جان رتکلیف علاوه بر موضوع ایران، درباره نگرانی‌های آمریکا نسبت به امنیت کشورهای عضو ناتو نیز با مقام‌های روس گفت‌وگو کرده است. با این حال، مقام‌های آمریکایی و روسی جزئیات رسمی درباره محتوای مذاکرات منتشر نکرده‌اند و سازمان سیا نیز از اظهار نظر درباره این سفر خودداری کرده است.

وزیر خارجه روسیه می‌گوید مسکو با دریافت عوارض از کشتی‌های عبوری از تنگهٔ هرمز موافق نیست؛ با این همه به گفته او، این موضوع به مذاکرات بیشتر نیاز دارد.

به گزارش خبرگزاری اینترفکس، سرگئی لاوروف در گفت‌وگویی با تلویزیون «آربی‌سی» با اشاره به باز بودن تنگهٔ هرمز تا قبل از آغاز حملات اسرائیل و آمریکا به ایران در ۹ اسفند پارسال، گفت: ایرانی‌ها «تنها برای این‌که تنگه هرمز امروز کاملاً باز باشد، در حال بحث در مورد عوارض عبور هستند. تا زمانی که ایالات متحده و اسرائیل آن قمار را آغاز نکردند، هیچ عوارضی وجود نداشت».
لاوروف تصریح کرد: «آمریکایی‌ها اکنون از ایران می‌خواهند تنگهٔ هرمز را باز کند و ایران می‌گوید که در ازای آن باید تحریم‌ها کاهش یا لغو شوند. و آن‌ها این کار را خواهند کرد».

رئیس‌جمهور آمریکا روز پنجشنبه گفت که دیگر نمی‌خواهد با مقام‌های جمهوری اسلامی مذاکره کند.
ترامپ افزود: روسیه رفتار مناسبی در تنگهٔ هرمز داشته است.
