Donald Trump, the President of the United States, on Monday, September 1st, officially referred to the Islamic Republic of Iran as a "failed state" on the social media platform "Truth Social" and called for the international prosecution of its leaders.

Trump described the state of Iran's economic and military structures as a "complete collapse" and wrote: "Iran no longer has a navy or an air force; their currency has collapsed, salaries for soldiers and police forces are not being paid, and inflation has reached 300 percent. Their leadership is in absolute chaos and is unable to govern the country."

The U.S. President continued by accusing Tehran of violently suppressing internal protests, adding: "The only thing they know how to do is massacre their own protesters, with the death toll now exceeding 100,000. Tehran officials must be prosecuted for committing war crimes against humanity."

دونالد ترامپ، رئیس‌جمهوری ایالات متحده، روز دوشنبه نهم شهریور، در شبکه اجتماعی «تروث سوشال»، جمهوری اسلامی ایران را رسما یک «کشور شکست‌خورده» خواند و خواستار محاکمه بین‌المللی رهبران آن شد.

ترامپ وضعیت ساختارهای اقتصادی و نظامی ایران را «فروپاشی کامل» توصیف کرد و نوشت: «ایران دیگر نه نیروی دریایی دارد و نه نیروی هوایی؛ ارز آن‌ها از دست رفته، حقوق سربازان و نیروهای پلیس پرداخت نمی‌شود و تورم به ۳۰۰ درصد رسیده است. رهبری آن‌ها در آشفتگی مطلق است و توانایی اداره کشور را ندارد.»

رئیس‌جمهوری آمریکا در ادامه با متهم کردن تهران به سرکوب خونین اعتراضات داخلی افزود: «تنها کاری که آن‌ها بلدند کشتار معترضان خود است که اکنون شمار کشته‌شدگان به بیش از ۱۰۰ هزار نفر رسیده است. مقامات تهران باید به اتهام ارتکاب جنایات جنگی علیه بشریت محاکمه شوند.»
