On Monday, September 9, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement that Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan have agreed to establish a secretariat in Saudi Arabia under the framework of the "Makkah Joint Defense Pact."

According to the statement, the leadership of this secretariat will be held by a secretary from Pakistan for the first three years.

In this context, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs also announced that mechanisms for the accession of other countries to this pact are under review.

وزارت امور خارجه عربستان سعودی روز دوشنبه نهم شهریور در بیانیه‌ای اعلام کرد که کشور‌های عربستان سعودی، ترکیه و پاکستان توافق کرده‌اند در قالب «پیمان دفاعی مشترک مکه»، دبیرخانه‌ای را در عربستان سعودی تاسیس کنند.

بر اساس این بیانیه، ریاست این دبیرخانه در سه سال نخست بر عهده دبیرکلی از کشور پاکستان خواهد بود.

در همین راستا، وزارت امور خارجه ترکیه نیز اعلام کرد که تنظیم سازوکارهایی برای پیوستن سایر کشورها به این پیمان، در دست بررسی است.
