The "Iranian Academic Faculty Syndicate" has warned that if the law for the amendment of faculty members' salaries is not fully implemented by the end of September 2026, it will ask professors to suspend their academic activities starting from the beginning of October.

In a statement, the syndicate announced that the suspension of activities will include educational, research, executive, and consulting areas and will continue until the law is implemented "completely and unconditionally." The faculty syndicate has accused the Organization of Planning and Budget and its head of "arbitrary and unconventional obstruction" and stated that correspondence, negotiations, and discussions with responsible officials have not yielded results so far.

This labor organization has also warned that continued neglect of the living conditions of academics could lead to an increase in the emigration of elites, a decrease in scientific productivity, and irreparable damage to the country's human capital.

The amendment to the salaries of faculty members was approved on March 8, 2026, by the Council of Wages and Salaries and was supposed to be implemented from the beginning of 2026. This amendment includes changes to the formula for calculating salaries and adjustments to the coefficients for payments to faculty members.

«کانون صنفی استادان دانشگاهی ایران» هشدار داده است اگر قانون ترمیم حقوق اعضای هیئت علمی تا پایان شهریور ۱۴۰۵ به‌طور کامل اجرا نشود، از استادان خواهد خواست فعالیت‌های دانشگاهی خود را از ابتدای مهر تعلیق کنند.

این کانون در بیانیه‌ای اعلام کرده است تعلیق فعالیت‌ها، حوزه‌های آموزشی، پژوهشی، اجرایی و مشاوره‌ای را شامل می‌شود و تا زمان اجرای «کامل و بی‌قیدوشرط» قانون ادامه خواهد یافت.
کانون صنفی استادان، سازمان برنامه‌وبودجه و رییس آن را به «مانع‌تراشی‌های سلیقه‌ای و خارج از عرف» متهم کرده و گفته است مکاتبه، مذاکره و رایزنی با مقام‌های مسئول نیز تاکنون به نتیجه نرسیده است.

این تشکل صنفی همچنین هشدار داده است ادامه بی‌توجهی به وضعیت معیشتی دانشگاهیان می‌تواند به افزایش مهاجرت نخبگان، کاهش بهره‌وری علمی و واردشدن آسیب‌های جبران‌ناپذیر به سرمایه انسانی کشور منجر شود.

مصوبه اصلاح حقوق اعضای هیئت علمی روز ۱۸ اسفند ۱۴۰۴ در شورای حقوق و دستمزد تصویب شد و قرار بود از ابتدای سال ۱۴۰۵ اجرا شود. این مصوبه، تغییر فرمول محاسبه حقوق و اصلاح ضر‌ایب مبنای پرداخت به اعضای هیئت علمی را در بر می‌گیرد.
